The barat is about arrival, welcome and honour. Darbar's indoor hall, with crystal chandeliers and carved white and gold detail, gives the groom's family the entrance they expect, and the stage has room for both families. Guests are seated in comfort while our team manages service, so the hosts can greet people instead of running the kitchen.

The walima is the groom's family hosting the new couple, and it often feels warmer and more relaxed. Some families prefer the indoor hall, others use the rooftop for an evening walima under the city lights. With both spaces in one building, you can choose on the day that suits your guest list and the season.
Food that honours your guests
At a barat or walima, the food speaks for the family. Our 4,000 square foot kitchen is run by 35 chefs, with live BBQ and a see-through kitchen so guests see the care that goes into their meal. Our banquet team will prepare a menu with your family and share rates once we know your date and guest count.
Seating families with care
Two families coming together means two sets of elders, relatives and friends, and seating them well is part of showing respect. Before the event, our banquet team goes through the guest numbers with you and plans a layout that keeps elders close to the stage, gives both families equal space, and leaves clear paths for service so food reaches every table hot.
On the walima day, many families prefer a calmer layout with more room between tables for conversation. We can set the hall differently for each day, even when both events are booked together. If some guests are travelling from other cities or from abroad, rooms at Regency Suites mean they can rest between the barat and walima without crossing the city.
After the event, our team stays until the last guest has left and the family has finished its photographs, so the hosts never feel rushed out of their own celebration.
