Most restaurants in Lahore look out onto a car park or a busy road. Darbar's rooftop looks out over the city. At sunset the sky turns orange over Gulberg; after dark the lights of the city stretch out around you. It is the kind of setting that turns an ordinary dinner into an evening you remember.
The best time to come
For photographs, come during hi-tea, served from 4 to 7 PM, when the sun sets over the rooftop and the light is soft. For the full night view, come for dinner, served from 7 PM until 2 AM. Late evenings are cooler in summer and the city is at its brightest.
Food worth the view
A view only matters if the food lives up to it. Our 35 chefs cook from a 4,000 square foot kitchen, with live BBQ grilled in front of you and a menu that covers karahi, handi, pizza and burgers. Dishes arrive hot from the see-through kitchen, so you can enjoy both the city and the meal.
Reserving an edge table
The tables along the rooftop edge have the widest view and are the first to go. Reserve in the morning for the evening and ask for an edge table when you call. If you are planning a proposal, an anniversary or a birthday surprise, tell us in advance and our team will help you plan the moment.
The rooftop seats 150 guests. If the weather turns, the indoor hall downstairs seats 300 under chandeliers.
Photos that do the view justice
A city view deserves good pictures. For the best results, arrive twenty minutes before sunset during hi-tea and take photos while there is still colour in the sky, then stay on as the city lights come on. Phone cameras handle the rooftop well after dark if you ask for a table away from bright lamps. Couples, families and groups of friends all leave with pictures they are happy to share.
